The holiday photo season has officially kicked off and I've been so busy on shoots that I haven't had much time to blog! Here are a few shots from a session this past week. I've watched this family's older daughter grow up along side my son and now their littlest one just tuned a year! It's amazing how time flies! I am so glad they decided to book me for a session to capture this moment in time for their family.

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable family. They had seen some photos I had done for their friends last fall and wanted to do a beach maternity session. Due to high risk circumstances, they asked that I refrain from sharing the photos until after the baby had arrived. So here we are! Their new baby is home in their arms and here are some of my favorite photos from the session! Enjoy!

I have the tendency to donate a lot of photo sessions to local fundraisers. I really love giving back to my community and helping others fundraise for great causes. So when I saw that my friend Robin purchased a session I had donated I was super excited. Our boys used to take gymnastics classes together back when they were toddlers and we hadn't seen each other in quite a while.
What a relaxing evening it was on their amazing ranch. We took a stroll around the property and stopped along the way when the location struck us. My favorite part? Mom instructed the boys to "dress fancy" and then let them choose their own outfits. As you can see in the images below the four year old chose his favorite Batman costume paired with rain boots and the six year old went all out with a dress shirt, vest, Hawaiian print shorts and John Deere boots. I just love how she took the pressure off the kids to "look perfect" and let their personalities shine through. Here is a little sneak peek...

Have you attended a gender reveal party??? So fun! So here's the idea... mom-to-be has an ultrasound but instead of finding out the baby's gender she has the information sealed in an envelope. This mama took the results to a party supply store and had balloons sealed into a box. The party supply employee was instructed to place blue balloons in the box if the results were a boy and pink for a girl. Surrounded by family and friends, the family opened the box and revealed the results. For a family with two girls, they were ecstatic to see BLUE balloons!
It was my honor to capture this special moment for the Caraker family. Check out a few photos below... you can really feel their excitement!

I had the pleasure of photographing these two darlings yesterday evening. Big sis was such a great listener - we had a great time bringing out her sassy side. Little brother just turned one so we rounded out the session with a super messy smash cake! Got to love it!
